The Despoiler Unleashed

Well then! After doing that quick doodle of Abaddon a while back, I ended up reading Aaron W Dembski-Bowden mini-essay on the driving forces and motivation behind the character, and I kinda felt I had to do a bigger painting to do him justice. I didn't want to just do a painted version of the miniature, which in my mind could honestly do with some updating, so I ended up mixing some of the classical aspects of Abaddon with some of the traits from his pre-heresy Forgeworld miniature. I wanted it to look as if the armor Abaddon wears is a modified version of his original suit of Terminator plate. I also added in a few little personal flairs that I felt would look nifty on the character.

Aanyway, as for the whole Failbaddon meme, I suppose I'm more partial to the idea that the 13 black crusades were more 13 black test-runs. The real onslaught of chaos has yet to begin
